About Me

I love to learn. I am very passionate about sharing my love of learning, specifically when it comes to English! My name is Karen Thornton Cotney. I grew up in Morgan City, Louisiana, where I graduated from Central Catholic High School. My home town is located on the Gulf of Mexico, and my father hunts alligatorsJ I graduated from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette. Soon after I married and moved to Enterprise, Alabama. I am currently teaching English at Kinston High School. I teach with my husband, Larry Cotney, who is a history teacher and a baseball/ football coach. I have three beautiful children Karoline, Whitney, and Grant. My two daughters have graduated from Auburn University, and my son is a junior there studying aerospace engineering. I have a cute little dog named Charles. When I am not teaching, I spend as much time as possible with my family J
